Ashleigh Hughes Photography

My name is Ash and I am a photographer and designer based on the Central Coast but often travel to Newcastle, Sydney and the Hunter Valley. Three things you should know about me is my functionality comes from caffeine, I am driven by my passion to discover and create and I enjoy shooting people (with my camera of course!). Another three things you probably shouldn't know about me is that I have an unusual desire to speak french, analyse number plates and rearrange furniture.

I would love the opportunity to capture those special family moments or create anything you need so send me through an email at info@ashleighhughes.com.au and we can organise your shoot!

Welcome Baby James

Oh how I love baby rolls! Particularly James’ little arm rolls! James was very relaxed and didn’t seem to mind being in front of the camera.

He is a Mummy’s boy, even giving a little smirk in his sleep when she was near him. Big sister Eden was a big help and will make a great Mum herself, already helping out with feeding and changing him.

I must of worn him out because as soon as we put him down he was straight to sleep and I couldn’t resist a close up of his face and those gorgeous lips! What a cutie!

Drew & Carissa: The Wedding

I love a family wedding, particularly with my family! But this one was a little different because instead of being a guest I was the photographer! We had a wonderful location at Auburn gardens with plenty of beautiful spots to choose from, in fact, too many! I could of easily spent a few hours shooting in there. After I nearly fell backwards down the stairs (this is why you shouldn’t photograph and walk backwards!), it was back to the reception to enjoy kilos of purple candy that we are still trying to get through and of course, dancing up a storm! We said farewell to the lovely couple with a tunnel of hands and just like that, the day was over. It is amazing how much quicker the day seems to go when you know most of the people at a wedding. So glad to be involved in their special day. Welcome home Mr & Mrs Shaw!

Welcome Baby Archie!

With the addition of the ever so gorgeous Archie, that makes three boys under the age of three for Kate & Scott. They will definitely have their hands full keeping up with their very energetic but incredibly beautiful little family. Archie at just 8 days old barely moved a muscle, not even being squished by his older brothers seemed to bother him! I can’t wait to watch these boys grow and see the relationships they form with one another. Kate & Scott, before you know it your boys will be taller and maybe even stronger than you, so cherish this time while you have it…you are very lucky parents!

Engaged! Simon & Kate

In the four months I have known Kate we have gotten together in three different states. This time, it was down to sunny (yes, sunny!) Melbourne for their engagement shoot. I had so much fun exploring a new town, there is so much variety and so many wonderful places to photograph in Brunswick. Lots of bright colourful walls, doors, cute little cafes and large parks like this one which still looked like Autumn in Summer. The beautiful red vintage bike was done up by Simon and looked fantastic in the photos. I had such a fun time photographing these two crazy lovebirds. The wedding is going to be stunning :)

Engaged! Ashleigh & Scott

Nobby’s had a wonderful afternoon glow and was just the perfect spot for a romantic shoot along the beach for Ashleigh and Scott. We got a nice work out from the long walk we did up and over the sand but it was well worth it for the beautiful photos we got!

The final two shots with the gorgeous bright colours were at a small carnival that Nobby’s was conveniently having, unfortunately it was closed when we got there, I would of loved to have done a whole shoot in there!

Welcome baby Zane

I took a nice drive through the countryside (okay it may not have been the countryside but it kind of felt like it!) to reach little Zane and his lovely parents Sarah and Paul. Their house is just gorgeous with a great big yard that Zane will love when he is older. With every session I expect at least one wee but Zane here is now my record holder for the most wee’s with a total of five during the session! I’m not sure where he stored it all but it was rather amusing. Such a handsome little man! Your parents are so proud of you Zane, the photos show how much you are loved.

Welcome Baby Rhys

Unlike his mother Tanya who is used to being in front of the camera, at just 14 days old this was a first time for Rhys. He seemed to be a little camera shy or perhaps his little eyes are still adjusting to the large world around him…either way his serious pout and gorgeous little chin are just too darn cute! Congratulations on your gorgeous little man.

Engaged! Greg & Emma

For two people that weren’t too sure about being in front of the camera Greg and Emma were naturals! We had a very relaxed afternoon in Newcastle where we went for a walk along a road where Greg seemed to know everybody! ha.

Hopefully seeing these you will feel a bit more relaxed about getting your wedding photos done. You guys have nothing to worry about!

Welcome Baby Georgia

Oh what a cutie Georgia is! Her parents were bridesmaid and groomsmen at a wedding I photographed and because this world seems to be so small they of course went to school with my cousins as well!

The best thing about newborns is that you can poke them and move them and they generally don’t mind….Georgia was no exception and she cooperated beautifully! Erin and Daniel you are so incredibly blessed to have such a gorgeous little girl…treasure these moments, she will be all grown up before you know it.
